«PITHOIGIA 2024» 3rd Santorini wine tasting meeting at Symposion Cultural Center

For the third year in a row ‘’Pithoigia’’ wine exhibition and tasting is organized with the participation of 13 wineries from the island of Santorini on Sunday, April 14 2024 from 12:00pm to 19:00 at the traditional canava of "Symposion Cultural Center" in Megalochori, Santorini .

"Pithoigia 2024" refers to the first day of the ancient traditional festival of Anthesteria, the day of "pithos" (large urns) during which ancient Greeks unsealed the clay vessels where the wine was stored in order to taste the new harvest and fill the vessels of the buyers.

The wine-growing tradition of Santorini from ancient times until today is crucial part of the local  cultural identity.

Professionals and wine lovers who will visit "Pithoigia 2024" will have the opportunity to taste the wines from last year’s harvest which we will be enjoyed this summer.

Admission to the event is free.
