Το ντουέτο της Kέλυς Θωμά με την Χρυσάνθη Γκίκα δημιουργεί ένα ιδιαίτερο μουσικό διάλογο όπου η παράδοση συναντά τη σύγχρονη δημιουργία. Με βασικά όργανα την κρητική και την πολίτικη λύρα—δύο συγγενικά, τρίχορδα τοξωτά έγχορδα— οι δύο μουσικοί αναπτύσσουν ένα ζωντανό μουσικό τοπίο που αντλεί έμπνευση από τις μουσικές παραδόσεις της ανατολικής Μεσογείου και του ευρύτερου κόσμου.
Το αποτέλεσμα είναι μια συναυλιακή εμπειρία που ξεπερνά τα όρια της “world music”: μια ζωντανή συνάντηση ήχων, πολιτισμών και προσωπικής έκφρασης, όπου δύο όργανα ενώνονται σε έναν κοινό παλμό.
Kelly Thoma’s DUET with Chrysanthi Gkika creates a distinctive musical where tradition meets contemporary creativity. With the Cretan lyra and the kemençe —two closely related, three-string bowed instruments— the two musicians develop a vibrant musical landscape inspired by the traditions of the Eastern Mediterranean and beyond.
